In January 2018, important works were carried out in the electrical sector, including the expansion of the transmission capacity of the 33 kV Challapampa - Cono Norte Line and the construction of a new Electrical Power Substation in Rio Seco. Preventive measures were implemented, such as changing insulators and intervening in metal structures, to improve service reliability and avoid line failures. In addition, a double level of distribution voltage was established to serve local loads and remote areas, such as the town of Huanca, more than 90 km away. These actions seek to improve electrical infrastructure and guarantee a reliable energy supply in the Northern Cone region.
